PRETREATMENT OF MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER SLUDGE
THE CHALLENGE

Reach best possible conditions for generation of biogas from secondary sludge before the digester and decrease dry sludge disposal in wastewater treatment plants.
THE TECHNOLOGY

PST – in-situ, partial chemical oxidation process for primary and secondary municipal sludge.
The municipal wastewater sludge unit (PST) is a fully automatic, in-situ, partial chemical oxidation process for primary and secondary municipal sludge. It is used to increase the levels of soluble COD before anaerobic digestion (AD).
VALUE PROPOSITION
u Alpha Cleantec has developed based on its proprietary technology a process allowing to pretreat sludge before the digester, thereby significantly increasing biogas generation (up to 50%) and decreasing dry sludge disposal at the end of the process (up to 20%).
u In certain territories, the dry sludge at the end of the process can be sold as fertilizer (sludge class A).
u Decreases carbon footprint of wastewater plants.
BENEFITS OF OUR SOLUTION
Granted patents

CERTIFICATES AND APPROVALS
SUCCESS STORIES
The company had a pilot unit that ran continuously an anaerobic municipal wastewater plant for more than 7 months. The unit increased biogas generation by 50% and decreased dry sludge disposal by 20%.
u Sludge: 150 m3/day
u Size: 12 x 2.5 x 2.5 m
u Replacement of chemicals: Every two weeks to one month
